Dr. Bhakhri graduated from Punjab Agricultural University, India in 1997. He finished his national board exams and studies in North America. His fields of expertise are small animal surgery and internal medicine. He also takes good care of rodents and pocket pets. He consults with specialists when required. Dr. Bhakhri was licensed in California in 2000 and worked in different clinics in the Bay Area for 4 years. He also worked in an emergency clinic in New York for 2 years. He has been working at ELC Veterinary Clinic since August 2006. Dr. Bhakhri is capable of handling any type of emergency or critical cases. Dr. Bhakhri is very passionate about mentoring the next generation of vets and participates with local high schools on job shadow days to give students an opportunity to shadow and volunteer at his clinic. In addition to his busy schedule at the clinic, he likes to hike and travel and spend time with his family and his dog, Rey.

Dr. Bhakhri is also a founding board member of nonprofit organization Barking For A Better Punjab, located in Chuhar Chak Surgery Center, Punjab, India since January 2025. He visited the center in October 2026 to train and mentor new interns and veterinarians and he shared hands-on surgical guidance with their team, strengthening its mission of humane stray dog sterilization and a rabies-free Punjab.

Dr. Ishaan is a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian with extensive clinical experience in small animal medicine, caring for dogs and cats in both India and the United States. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Veterinary Medicine in India and further advanced his veterinary training by completing the PAVE clinical program at Oklahoma State University. With a strong passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Ishaan has developed a broad range of clinical expertise, with particular interests in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and preventive care. Dr. Ishaan believes that exceptional veterinary care is built on compassion, trust, and open communication. His approach focuses not only on treating illnesses but also on promoting long-term health and strengthening the bond between pets and their families. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Ishaan enjoys spending time with family, exploring new places, and continuously learning. For Dr. Ishaan, the most rewarding part of being a veterinarian is making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals while building lasting relationships with the families who love them.
